6.3 Requirements for Chain of Custody Approval (09/2008) (CA - COC)
The Sustainable Agriculture Network’s process for Chain of Custody approval is intended for operations that produce, receive, process, store or handle Rainforest Alliance Certified™ products. It is focused on determining the potential risk of mixture of Rainforest Alliance Certified™ products with non-certified products, as well as the actions taken to prevent such mixture.
The Requirements for Chain of Custody Approval – Sustainable Agriculture Network apply to all operations involved in the production, reception, processing, storage or handling of Rainforest Alliance Certified™ products. The types and conditions of operations submitted to assessment processes to determine compliance with the Requirements for Chain of Custody Approval – Sustainable Agriculture Network, are outlined in the Chain of Custody Policy for Operations – Sustainable Agriculture Network.
